Vision

Trigger Education recently completed an inspiring wall graphics project at Springfield Primary Academy in Grimsby. As part of a larger initiative to enhance the school’s environment, we designed and installed reading and school values wall vinyls along a key corridor in the Key Stage 1 area. This project aimed to visually reinforce the importance of reading and the school’s core values in an engaging and memorable way. Springfield Primary Academy wanted to transform a KS1 corridor into a vibrant space. The goal was to inspire both pupils and staff. The brief focused on promoting the joy of reading and highlighting the school’s core values: Care, Collaboration and Challenge. Additionally, the school wished to include their British values, presented in a visually appealing and impactful manner. After our previous successful project with the academy, Trigger Education were delighted to take the project on. We were to create wall vinyls that would enhance the space and serve as a daily reminder of the school’s values and commitment to literacy.

Solution

The reading and school values wall vinyls span the length of a Key Stage 1 corridor. The brief asked us to divide the design into two distinct sections:

Reading Section: On the left side of the corridor, we created a reading-themed design. This area features familiar storybook characters like the Big Bad Wolf, Goldilocks and Humpty Dumpty, tailored specifically for the age of the pupils. Surrounding these beloved characters are inspiring quotes about the importance of reading. The colourful and engaging design encourages pupils to develop a love for reading.

School Values Section: On the right side of the corridor, we focused on the school’s core values: Care, Collaboration and Challenge. We visually represented these values through creative and engaging illustrations. Additionally, we highlighted the school’s British values on a signpost. Inspirational quotes about excelling in education surround this area, embedding these values into the school’s culture.

We carefully customised the design to reflect the ethos of Springfield Primary Academy. By integrating vibrant colours, traditional storybook characters and meaningful messages, we ensured that the wall vinyls would captivate the pupils’ attention.

Results

The completed reading and school values wall vinyls transformed the corridor into an educational and inspiring space. The engaging graphics and impactful design make this corridor more than just a passageway. It’s now a place where pupils are reminded of the joys of reading and the importance of living by the school’s values. As pupils walk through the corridor, they are surrounded by visuals encouraging them to explore the world of books. They also embody the values of Care, Collaboration and Challenge. The addition of British values further solidifies the school’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded, informed pupils. Trigger Education proudly partnered with Springfield Primary Academy on this project. The reading and school values wall vinyls enhance the school’s environment and support its educational mission.
