Vision

Hopwood Community Primary School approached Trigger Education with a specific need to enhance privacy in their school staff room. The school hall features a mezzanine staff room with windows overlooking the hall below. While the windows provided natural light, the staff required more privacy without sacrificing natural light. To address this, Trigger Education designed and installed semi-transparent privacy window vinyls that delivered the desired privacy while letting natural light in. The school briefed us to create window vinyls ensuring privacy for the staff room while still allowing light. Additionally, the design needed to incorporate tones of blue, consistent with the school’s key colours. We faced the challenge of creating a cohesive pattern across 35 small windows, providing a unified look.

Solution

After considering the school’s requirements, we developed a solution meeting both the functional and aesthetic needs of the space. To create the privacy window vinyls, we designed a pattern that extended across all 35 windows. The pattern featured various shades of blue, giving the windows a modern, calming appearance. The meticulously planned design had singular designs for each of the 35 windows. When put together, the vinyls created a cohesive overall design which appeared continuous and harmonious, even across multiple panes. We selected the tones of blue to blend well with the existing decor of the school hall while providing privacy. The vinyls allowed light to pass through, maintaining a bright atmosphere in the staff room and hall below. Our installation team applied the vinyls, ensuring a perfect fit across all windows.

Results

The privacy window vinyls successfully transformed the mezzanine staff room at Hopwood Community Primary School. The design provided the desired privacy and enhanced the overall look of the school hall. The unified pattern across the 35 small windows created a cohesive and visually appealing effect, adding to the hall’s aesthetic. Now, staff members enjoy increased privacy in their workspace, while the school hall retains its welcoming feel. The tones of blue in the design add a touch of tranquillity, aligning perfectly with the school’s colour scheme.
