Hazel Grove Primary School, in Stockport, were looking to refresh their school image with a strong focus on revamping their logo and school website. The existing logo, whilst bright and colourful, needed a new perspective to give it a more contemporary and professional feel. However, the school liked the idea of the bright and bold rainbow colours used in the existing logo. So, a key part of the design brief was to utilise these colours. Therefore this was explored at length when designing new logo options. This became the inspiration for the entire branding project.
Trigger created a selection of fresh new logo options for the school inspired by the vivid rainbow colours of their original logo. The new design options focused on the ‘hazel’ aspect of the school’s name. Therefore the routes were heavily focused around different visuals of trees. Trees work particularly well for a school’s logo, as they represent growth and nurture. In addition, each design route aimed to reflect an aspect of the schools ethos. The final design options were presented to the pupils, to determine the final choice. The result, was the selection of a bright, colourful, and fresh logo design. The chosen design incorporated brightly coloured elements that reflected the school values, forming the visual of a hazel tree grove.
After the completion of the logo, the design of the vivid branding was carried through to their new primary school website design.
