After the huge success of previously creating a new brand identity for Buile Hill Academy, Trigger were contacted again by the Salford based school with a request to further develop their logo. The school needed their logo updating to match their newly changed status to an Academy. Since its inception, the original logo’s modern design has maintained a contemporary feel which has stood the test of time. During this, the school has continued to establish a strong and recognisable identity, therefore we wanted to maintain this in the new design.
The original brief from the Salford College was to update and refresh its image with a new logo design. Buile Hill wanted a new design that would embrace the school’s aims to improve the life chances of its pupils. Trigger used a refined version of the schools existing colour palette to create a pathway icon showing an upward trajectory. The new logo was designed to symbolise the school’s ethos ‘always moving forward’. As part of the rebrand Trigger created comprehensive brand guidelines for the school’s future use. The brand guidelines would ensure that the new brand was used correctly and consistently. In addition, Trigger designed the school’s planner and school stationery. Stationery designs were created for a letterhead, compliment slips, business cards and email signatures. Following feedback from the school, artwork was created for the stationery that the school could print internally. A Word template was also supplied to the school so they could keep digital documents consistent.
We explored a variety of design options for the new logo from radical routes to a basic refresh of the brand for Buile Hill Academy to select their new logo. Furthermore, once the chosen route was selected, all stationery and signage were updated with the new logo. Finally, the school were provided with the new logo saved in various formats and sizes for future use along with the updated brand guidelines document.
